DAVID NICHOLSON MARES HURDLE HISTORY

This race was only introduced to the Cheltenham Festival in 2008, so not much history to be told here.

2008

Whiteoak was the very first winner of this event ridden by J M Maguire and trained by D McCain Jnr. It rallied close to the finishing post, just touching off the mighty connection of AP McCoy and Jonjo O'Neill aboard Refinement, by a short head. The favourite Chomba Womba, was beaten 2 1/2 lengths into 3rd with some fairly chunky bets failing to hurt the on course bookmakers.
